FAA-Certified Drone Pilot

Happy Fall! I am freshly back from a trip to Maine filming coffee and lobsters (what could be better than that) with some exciting news to announce. I am now a FAA-Certified Drone Pilot!

I passed the FAA Part 107 Drone Certification test in early September and I can now offer my drone services commercially for both video and still photography.

I made a short film while in Maine to celebrate, Morning Cycle. It pays homage to the hardworking men and women of the Stonington lobster fisheries who rise very early every morning to make Stonington, Maine the most active lobster port in the world.

Background: I have been flying and testing drones for three years. You can find all of my drone related blog posts here.

On a few occasions already I have flown commercially for clients by bringing in a third-party FAA-certified pilot. That will no longer be necessary.

My film for the Solidago School of Herbalism has a few very nice drone based clips/accents and I have a number of drone based personal projects on main site in the Personal Projects gallery. I’ll be adding aerial galleries soon.
