The Spring 2012 issue of Fordham Lawyer was just published. Like the re-launch last fall, it features my still images for the cover, some of the inside stories, and my videos as added online content.

Rethinking Tort Law – added video content:

Getting Real – added video content:
Notes:
The still images were shot with Canon 1Ds Mark IIIs – the last of my assignments with these cameras. The video segments were shot with Canon 5D Mark IIIs – the first of my video work on this new model. For the video the cameras were set to ISO 2500, 24p frame rate, 1/50 sec. & f/5.6, with full HD capture. The final video was output from FCP X at 720p.
BTS for the video can be found in this blog post – Sola ENGs on Set.
The criminal court shot was represents the upper end of what the 1Ds Mark III could do. It is at ISO 3200, f/6.3 at 1/30 sec. on a Canon 17mm TSE lens (tilt/shift.) It would have been nice to have had the 5D Mark III at that point and been able to bump the ISO up to 6400 or 12800 resulting in a slightly faster shutter speed and/or a bit more depth of field. The final image is a combination of two different frames.
