Two portrait assignments from late last winter (I’m trying to catch up!)…
Andrea Schlosser of Schlosser Realty in Lavallette, NJ for a Realtor magazine article on firms surviving and prospering in the wake of disasters. Andrea’s brokerage is located on a barrier island within a block of the ocean but she was lucky to be spared the worst of Hurrican Sandy. Her building took in 27 inches of water and had to go about two months until all utilities were restored. Nearby communities were devastated, some losing almost all of their housing stock.
Andrea worked to get her business back up and running, and to help the local community recover. That effort paid off, between 2012 and 2013 she almost doubled her market share.
In 1994, Joel Cohen was an assistant U.S. attorney in Brooklyn, when he took over the investigation of Jordan Belfort, aka The Wolf of Wall Street and the subject of Martin Scorsese’s recent film. Joel is now in private practice but he continues to advocate on behalf of Belfort’s victims and to remind the public of the true story of Belfort and his firm, Stratton Oakmont. Joel was photographed for Middlebury College.
