Life is odd, life is funny. My wife and I were watching HBO’s Last Week Tonight with John Oliver last night. John launched into a story on Jared Kushner’s Middle East Peace Plan and then one of my portraits popped up on the screen!

The subject was Daniel Kurtzer, a career Foreign Service Officer, who was ambassador to Israel under George W Bush and prior to that ambassador to Egypt. Kurtzer was referenced because he had told NPR that he would give Kushner’s “so-called plan a C-” if it was from an undergraduate student. Kurtzer now teaches at Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public Affairs.
Here’s the full portrait:

A few folks have asked me about copyright and if this use on HBO was an infringement. It was not an infringement. Princeton University licensed wider use of the image a number of years ago and this use falls under that.
