On set today shooting a portrait for an ongoing ad campaign. This was setup #2. The first was in the adjacent control room.
To build on yesterday’s post, this is an example of what’s so good about professional quality LED lighting. Setup #1 was in the adjacent control room. The LED lights (2 – 1x1s and 1 – Sola ENG) were useful in color balancing between the existing tungsten room lights and a wall of monitors. Being able to see the light as I worked was very helpful and working off of batteries meant no cables or power packs to get in the way in a cramped space.
Setup #2, the broadcast studio, was already rigged with ~25 daylight 1x1s. They were higher up but I could add a key light and highlight props in the background (like video cameras equipped with teleprompters) using my own 1x1s.
As to the photo above and me, the fraken-boots and that bald head, well I might be breaking into Puttin’ on the Ritz at any moment.
