LIFE St. Francis

Continuing with the website updates apace and that couldn’t be more appropriate because next up is LIFE St. Francis, a PACE center in Bordentown, NJ, which I photographed in 2016. It was designed by McAuliffe + Carroll Architects.

Both LIFE and PACE are acronyms. PACE stands for Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly, a national program assisting elders to live at home while providing a team of healthcare experts in-house to support them as well as a day-program to enrich their lives. LIFE is St. Francis Hospital’s local version of the PACE program. It stands for Living Independently for Elders.

LIFE St. Francis continues McAuliffe + Carroll Architects’ affinity for bright open spaces and bold color choices. At this PACE center the color is more than an aesthetic choice, it also denotes the roles of each area within the building. Blue is for common areas, yellow is for physical therapy, green is for medical care, and red is for administrative support.
