It’s very nice to have an image from my personal work selected for a book cover, to have it coupled with great design is all the better, and to hear how much Connell loved the image completes the circle.
Unfortunately, Connell passed away a month ago at the age of 88. He was a nominee for the Man Booker International Prize for lifetime achievement in 2009. He was also the author behind the novels Mrs. Bridge and Mr. Bridge which became the 1990 Merchant-Ivory film, Mr. and Mrs. Bridge, starring Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward.
